What kind of book collection is this?

Baker & Taylor is the largest book distributor in the US, and is our main source for leisure books. B&T also has a Lease Plan wherein they make books available to libraries to lease for a period of time. The library can then decide if it should keep a particular title or send it back. This allows us to maintain a dynamic inventory of the most current, high demand, hardcover titles. Our Baker & Taylor collection is predominantly fiction novels, but it also includes some non-fiction books and biographies. Book selection is made based upon reviews and anticipated general public demand.  We also accept requests from students, faculty, and staff.

How many new books do you get in a month?

We get approximately 30 new titles a month. Four times a year we return part of the collection back to Baker & Taylor. We keep for free 20% of the most popular and high demand books as a benefit of the leasing plan.

How would I know if the book I am looking for is available?

Search this catalog for a title you’d like to read. You can do so by using the orange search icon at the top right corner of every page or by browsing the list of titles on the Title List page. If you wish to check out a book, you may do one of the following:

• Call us to check on the book’s availability at (260) 480-4172
• Fill out the Request Form and we’ll put a hold on the book you want.
• Come to the library and browse the books on the shelves. The library is located on Coliseum Campus (3800 N. Anthony Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46805)
